Check out how I painted this VIPER here. |
Just a quick one today, one of Rebel Minis Earth Force Hover Tanks. I added a tri-barrel weapon from a VIPER Mk. II as well as its chin gun since I was going for a Hammer's Slammers blower tank design. Painting was super simple, (two colors!), with some added Flames of War decals. I think this works really well as a medium or light blower and eventually will be painting units of them.
How hard was it to get the cannon fitted to the turret ring? I've never played around with those two bits like that. Great idea, sir.

I'm glad you like it! Not tough at all. There's a wire pin to keep it straight but it matches nicely. One of the things that I like about your modeling on these is that everything seems modular so it's pretty easy to mix and match.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I try and do with most stuff, sometimes to the chagrin of my clients.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost like my default mode: "Mongo make things modular....hrrr hrrr hrrr."
;)

Lovely job it look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the figure to the left of the blower in the first picture? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Mark, It's something I sculpted a couple of years ago when I was thinking about getting into 15mm production. I'll probably have some cast at some point and I'll post about it here. Thanks for your interest.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of the bomb suits in The Hurt Locker...
DeleteVery nice, really like what you've done with blower style tank. I love the modular nature of JBR's designs. I've used quite a few parts and pieces in my conversions. I really like that PA dude you sculpted too.
