Zombie Horde Contest!

People who collect and paint zombie miniatures tend to be a bit obsessive. We want great survivor figures but we especially want lots and LOTS of zombies! To celebrate this, RSquared Studios is having a Zombie Horde Contest. We want to see the best painted and the overall largest hordes of zombie miniatures. Whether you call it a horde, a swarm, or a shamble we want to see your zombies!

Prizes will be zombies from Zombie Plague Miniatures.

First Prize: 3x Joe Zombie, 3x Rose Frum, 1 Dirt Nap, 1 Tubby, 1 Dead Sexy.
Second Prize: 3x Joe Zombie, 1 Dirt Nap, 1 Tubby
Third Prize: 3x Joe Zombie

1. Zombie miniatures from any manufacturer can be included as part of your horde.

2. Two images must be submitted, one of the overall horde to show how large it is and one close up of the front rank of the horde to show the quality of painting. Judging will be based on both overall size and quality of paint-job. Images should be at least 1000 pixels on the largest side and no larger than 3000 pixels on the largest side in JPEG format.

3. Please no photo manipulation other than basic color correction.

4. Images can be on a gaming board with relevant terrain or on a clear surface like a tabletop or floor.

5. Email your images to by May 12, 2014

Email with any questions. And good luck!
(Note: Copyrights to images will of course be retained by each entrant but we ask for permission to post images as part of this contest. By entering you grant us this right.)

Painting Zombie Plague Miniatures Part 8: Painting Chelsea Harlowe and Timmy Leong

Almost finished with the painted Zombie Plague minis for the Kickstarter and can't wait to get them finished and off to their very patient owners. I took some days off recently and finished Chelsea and Timmy. I think both of these sculpts are great, Timmy stoic and tough and Chelsea looking a bit too happy with her new chainsaw. Having ten painted Chelseas on top of my painting desk brought a smile to my face.
Timmy Leong, baseball slugger and zombie smasher.
Chelsea Harlowe, Appleton High School cheerleader and chainsaw maniac.

Next up is Crissy Hot-Rod!

Price Comparison of Citadel Tool Set.

Although I usually can't stand the constant harping that a lot of people love to do about Games Workshop I thought Tom Schadle did a great job of showing substitutes for all of the new Citadel Tool Set. These tools are ridiculously overpriced in a way that seems almost cynical. Check out Tom's blog here:

Painting Zombie Plague Miniatures Part 7: Painting John Blackthorne

The first of the Zombie Plague characters is now painted and ready to blast some zombies with his trusty shotgun. In the game John gets to ignore his first Out of Ammo roll since he has a better understanding of shotguns than the other kids.

John, along with all of the Zombie Plague minis, are now available at The RSquared Store:

Tane Character Sheet.

Here is Ryan Howe's art of Tane, the brave leader of the Tiki Tribe in Tiki versus Cthulhu. We designed the Tiki people to be a fully fictional tribe and although certain cues were taken from existing peoples they are not based on any one culture.
