Tunnel Ratling Miniature.

In the worlds of Warhammer 40,000 there are various species of humans called Abhumans. These began as humans who then evolved into genetically stable races due to the conditions of the planets that they settled on. It was a way of getting dwarves, halflings, ogres, and other fantasy races into the sci-fi/fantasy setting of 40K.

Ratlings, which are the 40K version of hobbits or halflings, are usually seen in the role of snipers since they are very good at hiding and good shots at long range.

My take on the ratling comes from the tunnel rats, US soldiers who fought the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. Tunnel rats were usually very short men who were also tough as nails and sort of psychotic as they fought through the series of tunnels that the Viet Cong used.

So I present the Tunnel Ratling, a halfling who has been pushed beyond his normal limits and has become something most of his fellows would never recognize. He still uses his stealth abilites but instead of hiding, he uses them to sneak up on and quickly neutralize the enemy. I based him somewhat on the Chainsaw Warriors by Bob Naismith from the classic Rogue Trader era of Citadel miniatures.

ATTENTION!!! I've got a few castings of these and I'm going to make them available on a "pay what you like" basis. Just make sure to include $1.50 in The US or $3.00 in the rest of the world for postage. If you'd like one my Paypal email is hellbox45@hotmail.com .
